# ✍️ Community submissions (/discord-community/community-submissions)

You can contribute gratitude messages, artwork and governance ideas in [The Vault Discord](https://discord.gg/thevaultfinance). The bots send submissions for staff review and handle the next steps after approval. Each contribution type has its own eligibility and reward rules.

## Submit a gratitude message [#submit-a-gratitude-message]

Gratitude messages give you a place to recognize something or someone you appreciate. Your weekly submission slot is used when you submit, including while the message is pending or if it is rejected.

<Steps>
  <Step>
    ### Write your message [#write-your-message]

    Use `/grateful` and enter a message of up to 1,000 characters. Check the wording before sending because the limit is one submission each UTC week.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    ### Wait for review [#wait-for-review]

    The bot confirms the submission privately and sends it to staff. Approval and publication happen through the review queue.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    ### Check the published message and reward [#check-the-published-message-and-reward]

    Approved messages appear in the [gratitude channel](https://discord.com/channels/1174792162131587113/1396174367414812764). Once your approved message is published, the bot automatically adds 5,000 credits and posts a payroll receipt. There is no separate gratitude claim button.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Submit community artwork [#submit-community-artwork]

Artwork submissions open at level 10. Check the current theme and submission instructions, then prepare one image no larger than 10 MB.

<Steps>
  <Step>
    ### Open the artwork form [#open-the-artwork-form]

    In the [artwork submissions channel](https://discord.com/channels/1174792162131587113/1532419059369382040), select Submit Artwork. Upload one image in the form and submit it for staff review.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    ### Check the confirmation [#check-the-confirmation]

    The bot gives you a private confirmation or explains what needs correcting. If approved, the artwork is posted in the [community artwork gallery](https://discord.com/channels/1174792162131587113/1532419410038624498).
  </Step>

  <Step>
    ### Claim your commission [#claim-your-commission]

    Open your approved artwork's commission post in the [payroll channel](https://discord.com/channels/1174792162131587113/1389662035918323763) and select Claim Commission. The reward is 5,000 credits, two raffle tickets and one Quest Scroll.
  </Step>
</Steps>

You can keep submitting artwork after earning the weekly commission. Further approved artwork can still appear in the gallery, but it does not create another commission reward for that week. If you have not claimed your available reward, use the button on your first approved artwork's commission post.

## Submit a community governance proposal [#submit-a-community-governance-proposal]

Community proposals let members suggest changes for wider discussion and governance review. A proposal moves through staff approval, community support and then governance discussion (Figure 19.13).

<img alt="A level 10 member submits a proposal for staff review. An approved proposal needs 10 human check-mark supporters within seven days to move to the governance forum. Approval can award 1,000 credits within a weekly cap; reaching support awards another 10,000 credits." src="__img1" />

Figure 19.13: From a community idea to governance discussion

The submission and support process is:

<Steps>
  <Step>
    ### Describe the change [#describe-the-change]

    At level 10 or above, use `/proposal`. Enter a title of up to 100 characters and a proposal of up to 3,900 characters. Explain the problem, the change you suggest and how it would help the community.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    ### Wait for staff approval [#wait-for-staff-approval]

    Staff review the proposal before it appears in the [community proposals channel](https://discord.com/channels/1174792162131587113/1538923598755008656). Approval can award 1,000 credits, with a total cap of 1,000 proposal approval credits per member per UTC week. More proposals can be approved after you reach that cap.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    ### Gather community support [#gather-community-support]

    The public proposal has seven days from approval to reach 10 human supporters using the green check-mark reaction already on the post. Other reactions and bot reactions do not count. The bot's initial check-mark reaction is not a supporter.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    ### Continue the governance discussion [#continue-the-governance-discussion]

    When the threshold is reached, the author receives an additional 10,000 credits and the bot creates a numbered discussion in the [community governance forum](https://discord.com/channels/1174792162131587113/1463604536605282377). This support reward is separate from the weekly approval-credit cap.
  </Step>
</Steps>

A proposal that misses the support deadline expires. Reaching the threshold opens governance discussion; it does not automatically approve or implement the proposed change. The Council's governance role is described in [Community Council](/discord-community/community-council).

## Other ways to contribute [#other-ways-to-contribute]

You can share event ideas with a [Major](/discord-community/majors) or ask the community team about hosting an activity. See [Game events](/discord-community/game-events) for the current activities and hosting route.

For bugs, missing rewards or account-specific help, open a support ticket in [The Vault Discord](https://discord.gg/thevaultfinance) and include the relevant event, submission or bot response. Use the channel's current instructions for any special creative campaign or community call for contributions; its announcement sets the review process and rewards.
