โ Application FAQs
Answers to the questions validators ask most about applying to The Vault's stake pool.
These are the questions validators ask us most about applying. For the steps, see Validator application process.
Applying
How do I apply?
Open a support ticket in The Vault Discord, choose Validator, and use the /apply command. You receive a custom link to the application form.
What does the application ask for?
Your validator's vote account and Stakewiz link, how to reach you on Discord or Telegram, why you want to join the stake pool, how you will contribute to The Vault once accepted, and supporting evidence for your ecosystem contributions. You can also add your X account, website, GitHub, a referral and anything else you want the board to know. For what makes a strong application, see Application best practices.
I run more than one validator. What do I do?
Say so in the application and list every validator and vote account you are associated with. The form asks you to confirm this, and it warns that failing to disclose multiple validators may lead to blacklisting.
Does direct staking to my validator improve my chances?
No. Direct stake and gauges are open to any validator that meets the minimum requirements, but they do not affect the board's decision. Once you are approved, enough direct stake to reach the top 100 brings delegation from the Direct Stake Leaders bucket.
Can I update my application after I submit it?
Yes. Fill out the form again with your changes, and the board reviews your latest submission. Submit it before the 1st of the month to be in that month's review.
Timing
How long does the review take?
The Validator Board reviews applications once a month, from the 1st to the 15th (Figure 6.7). Submit before the 1st to be in that month's review; an application submitted on or after the 1st is reviewed the following month. Results are announced after voting closes on the 15th.

Figure 6.7: The monthly review cycle
Where are the results announced?
In the Node News channel of The Vault Discord, once voting for that month's applications is complete.
The Validator Board
Who reviews my application?
The Validator Board: validators from The Vault's own community who serve as board members while their validators are in the stake pool. Staff are not involved in the review or the vote.
What does the board look for?
First, that your validator meets the minimum requirements in Approved list criteria. Beyond that, your ecosystem contributions weigh the most: what you build, run or do for Solana, and how clearly you show it with evidence.
Can I join the Validator Board?
Approved validators can apply to join. New members are chosen from the applicants when a seat opens, and board members vote on the applications every month. Board members are exempt from Stake-as-a-Service fees. Ask in a support ticket if you are interested.
Results
What happens when I'm approved?
You join the approved list and can take part in the Direct Stake Leaders and Elite Performance buckets. Start with the Delegation onboarding guide.
What if my application is not approved?
Ask for the board's feedback in a support ticket, improve your application and apply again in a later cycle. Two unsuccessful applications in a row start a three-month pause. See Unsuccessful applications.
