The Colosseum, Arena and Adventurersโ€™ Guild run automated adventures in The Vault Discord. You enter a game, follow the bot's story and receive any rewards when it finishes. The games use the credits, XP and items explained in Economy.

Choose an adventure

The Colosseum and Arena have daily signup windows. Guild quests start through a shared queue when you use a Quest Scroll (Figure 19.3).

The Colosseum runs rotating group games, the Arena runs one-on-one duels, and the Adventurersโ€™ Guild runs solo quests using Quest Scrolls.

Figure 19.3: Three ways to join an adventure

The entry requirements are:

ActivityEntry requirementWhat happens
ColosseumLevel 10 and 1,000 credits per entry. You join the day's group game.
ArenaLevel 10 and 1,000 credits per entry. You enter a one-on-one duel. An unpaired player faces a bot opponent.
Adventurersโ€™ Guild questOne Quest Scroll. You receive a randomly selected solo adventure and outcome.

The bot runs the battles and quests automatically. You do not need to choose combat moves. Colosseum and Arena entries are separate, with a separate fee for each.

Enter a daily battle

Use the current signup post in the activity's channel to enter.

Enable the Gladiator role

Use /gladiator to add the Gladiator role and access the game channels and signup reminders. The command toggles the role, so using it again removes it.

Check your level and credits

Use /rank to check your level and /inventory in the items channel to check your balance. Each entry requires level 10 and 1,000 credits.

Join the current event

Open the Colosseum or Arena and select the signup button before entries close. The bot deducts the entry fee when your signup succeeds.

Follow the results

Read the event narration and final results in the same channel. Every participant in a completed Colosseum or Arena event receives one raffle ticket, including participants who do not win credits.

The daily schedule uses UTC:

ActivitySignups closeEvent startsApproximate duration
Arena16:00 UTC17:00 UTC1 hour
Colosseum17:00 UTC18:00 UTC2 hours

The next day's signups normally open after the Colosseum finishes. Check the current signup post for the event date and status. If an event is cancelled because it does not have enough participants, its entry fees are refunded.

Colosseum games and rewards

The Colosseum rotates through four modes. Every real participant in a completed event receives one raffle ticket, including those who lose or are eliminated. Credit and XP prizes are awarded separately.

The weekly schedule is:

DaysEventHow it worksPrize structure
Monday and FridayCarnageTwo assigned teams compete in an automated battle.Every member of the winning team receives 2,000 credits.
Tuesday and SaturdayObstacle CourseEntrants progress through a narrated elimination course.First, second and third receive 50%, 35% and 15% of the event pot.
Wednesday and SundayBoss BattleAll entrants face a shared boss.Victory: 2,000 credits and 1,000 XP per participant. Defeat: 500 XP per participant.
ThursdayKing of the HillEntrants compete until one remains at the summit. The winner receives the full event pot.

Credit payouts are the amounts added after paying the 1,000-credit entry fee. A 2,000-credit payout therefore means a net gain of 1,000 credits. Receiving no credits means the entry fee remains spent.

How the event pot grows

The pot starts with a 10,000-credit contribution. Each signup adds the entrant's 1,000-credit fee and a matching 1,000-credit contribution, increasing the pot by 2,000 credits. The pot is used for Obstacle Course and King of the Hill prizes; Carnage and Boss Battle use the fixed rewards listed above (Figure 19.4).

The Colosseum pot starts at 10,000 credits and grows by 2,000 per entrant, made up of a 1,000-credit entry and a 1,000-credit match. Ten entrants create a 30,000-credit pot.

Figure 19.4: Building the Colosseum prize pot

For example, 10 entrants create a 30,000-credit pot: 10,000 plus 10 times 2,000. Check the current event post for its actual total.

Carnage

The bot assigns you to the red or blue team at signup and keeps the teams balanced. You follow the narrated battle as players are eliminated. If your team wins, you receive 2,000 credits even if you fell earlier in the battle. Members of the losing team receive no credits. Everyone still receives the participation ticket.

Carnage needs at least two entrants. It rewards the team result, so surviving to the end is not required to receive the winning team's payout.

Obstacle Course

The bot narrates the course and eliminates entrants as it progresses. The podium receives the event pot in a 50%, 35%, 15% split (Figure 19.5).

An example 30,000-credit Obstacle Course pot pays 15,000 credits for first place, 10,500 for second and 4,500 for third, representing 50%, 35% and 15%.

Figure 19.5: Obstacle Course podium prizes

With the example 30,000-credit pot, first place receives 15,000 credits, second receives 10,500 and third receives 4,500. These are gross payouts; subtract the entry fee to calculate net winnings. Other entrants receive no credits. If fewer than three finishers are available, only the occupied podium places are paid at their stated percentages; unused shares are not redistributed. Every participant receives one ticket.

Boss Battle

Everyone fights the same boss. If the group wins, every participant receives 2,000 credits and 1,000 XP, including anyone eliminated during the fight. If the boss wins, every participant receives 500 XP and no credits. Everyone receives one ticket in either outcome (Figure 19.6).

Boss Battle victory pays each participant 2,000 credits, 1,000 XP and one ticket. Defeat pays 500 XP and one ticket, with no credits. Eliminated participants share the team's outcome.

King of the Hill

The bot runs an elimination contest until one entrant remains at the summit. That winner receives the entire pot. A 30,000-credit pot pays 30,000 credits to the winner, a net gain of 29,000 after the entry fee. Other entrants receive no credits, and every participant receives one ticket.

Arena duels

The Arena runs daily, separately from the rotating Colosseum event. Entrants are paired for one-on-one automated battles. An unpaired entrant faces a bot opponent. Each real participant in a completed duel receives one ticket (Figure 19.7).

An Arena win pays 2,000 credits, a tie refunds the 1,000-credit entry and a loss pays zero credits. After the entry fee, net changes are plus 1,000, zero and minus 1,000 credits. All participants receive one ticket.

The credit outcomes are:

ResultCredits added after the battleNet change after the entry fee
Win2,000Gain 1,000 credits.
Tie1,000, refunding the entry.No change.
LossNone.Spend 1,000 credits.

Adventurersโ€™ Guild quests

Quest Scrolls come from approved artwork, role rewards and other community activities. Each scroll buys one quest. Quest tiers range from E to S, and the bot randomly determines the adventure and its outcome.

Check your scroll balance

Use /inventory in the items channel to check your scroll balance.

Start your adventure

Use /quest in the Adventurersโ€™ Guild. The bot consumes one scroll immediately and tells you your place in the queue.

Follow the quest story

Watch the Guild channel for the five-part adventure. One quest runs at a time, taking about 5 minutes. Rewards arrive after its final message.

Completed quests award XP. Credits and raffle tickets depend on the quest's tier and outcome, so every quest does not award every reward type. The level 50 requirement for crystals does not apply to spending Quest Scrolls.

Quest tiers and prizes

Each quest randomly receives a tier and an outcome. The current tier chances are E 35%, D 25%, C 20%, B 10%, A 7% and S 3%. Outcomes are success 60%, neutral 25% and failure 15%. XP and credit amounts are rolled within the ranges below.

TierSuccessNeutralFailure
E90 to 110 XP.55 to 65 XP.15 to 25 XP.
D220 to 280 XP.130 to 170 XP.25 to 35 XP.
C130 to 170 XP; 450 to 550 credits.65 to 85 XP; 225 to 275 credits.30 to 50 XP.
B175 to 225 XP; 900 to 1,100 credits.90 to 110 XP; 450 to 550 credits.40 to 60 XP.
A275 to 325 XP; 900 to 1,100 credits; 1 ticket.175 to 225 XP; 450 to 550 credits.60 to 90 XP.
S450 to 500 XP; 1,800 to 2,200 credits; 2 tickets.200 to 280 XP; 1 ticket.80 to 120 XP.

A reward type omitted from a cell is not awarded for that outcome. Even a failed quest awards the listed XP. Quest rewards are separate from the guaranteed participation ticket for completed Colosseum and Arena battles.

The Guild also hosts the crystal system, where members at level 50 or above can exchange surplus XP for crystals and sell them for credits. See Crystals and XP for the conversion rules.
